What is the cause of my knee stiffness?

I am 16. My right knee is stiff often. Usually when I wake up in the mourning or if I’ve been sitting for a long time. When it’s colder outside, that seems to have an effect. I am convinced it’s a form of arthritis. What do you guys think?

Note: I have never seriously injured my knee and it is only the right one. I do not have any pain only stiffness.

Stiffness in fingers?

I joined crew this year in high school, and I was on the erg (rowing machine) yesterday when my fingers started cramping up and hurting a lot. They were really stiff, but the stiffness went away after about 1/2 hour not erg’ing. Today at practice I had the same thing again in my hands while rowing out on the lake. Any ideas what this might be? I was thinking some sort of juvenile arthritis, but the pain’s not really consistent, it’s only when rowing.

Thanks!

Does this sound like a tendon problem in my dog?

I have a 2 year very active male blue heeler. He shows signs of what lameness kind of like "walking on eggshells," on days of exercise. Sometimes even days when he hasn’t been. At first I thought it was juvenile arthritis, but he doesn’t show any more stiffness in the mornings unlike our other dog we had who had arthritis. In fact, he seems better in the mornings.

He is very uncomfortable with us touching right behind where the ends of his pads of his front feet are. If you look at http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/8d/Paw_and_pads.jpg/250px-Paw_and_pads.jpg
Between the hair area of C and E is where is pain appears to be. He shows no discomfort around his joints at all. Sometimes there is minor swelling, but nothing excessive.

He’s the kind of dog who jumps 5 feet in the air all 4 feet off the ground.(I’m not exaggerating here.) I am wondering if he has pulled his tendons, and they haven’t had recovery time.
Oh, and he was on shark cartilage/msm for a month, and I saw no improvement. This is why I am thinking this isn’t arthritis.

I’m thinking he pulled something and he hasn’t had the time to recover. It hasn’t gotten better, so hes going to the vet Monday.

I have lost 130 lbs since last march,I have very bad arthritis,I stay very active with walk, house cleaning, dancing,I like to stay busy.

Starting when I was about 12 years old, I have occasionally had bouts with a strange, unidentified illness. It starts with a little bit of stiffness in the mornings, and progresses over a period of days until the joints are VERY swollen and aching in the mornings, along with a raised, reddish colored rash over each of the affected joints. The raised welts fade down as the day progresses, but the redness and itchiness over the joints remains, along with stiffness and joint pain. Each morning, the joint pain, stiffness, and rash over the joints is worse than the day before.
It usually starts with the knuckles and wrists of both hands, and progresses to include the elbows, ankles, toes, knees, and even the jaw. Each time the illness has presented, I have seen a doctor who has been completely mystified. I am usually prescribed an anti-inflammatory medicine of some variety to alleviate the symptoms. Once I take a few doses, all symptoms disappear. After the first onset, the length of time between symptoms has been longer each time. As a teenager, it would be a few months apart, and as I got older, more and more years pass between symptoms appearing. The only symptoms are the joint pain and raised welts over the joints – no fever or pain anywhere else.

Due to the fact that the symptoms are the worst when I first wake up and fade some during the day, along with the fact that all symptoms disappear once I take any medications to alleviate the pain and itching, no one has been able to diagnose it. When there are no symptoms, doctors can’t find a thing wrong with me. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

(I am familiar with lupus, lyme disease, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, etc. Doctors have all told me that my symptoms are atypical for those diseases.)
A point of clarification – I haven’t had a flare up with this in years, so I’m not looking for a way to treat it. I just want to know what it could be, or if anyone else has experienced the same symptoms. A number of doctors and specialists have told me they’ve never seen anything like it.

Meloxicam with glucosamine?

I have been taking 15 mg of Meloxicam a day for psoriatic arthritis. It helps a lot but I still have pain and stiffness in my hands so I have started taking glucosamine (3X 500 mg a day). Can these drugs be taken together? Any contraindications?

Helping making a sign introducing Paraffin hand wax?

Hi, We are including paraffin wax for hands in our nail salon for about -10, and thinking about making a sign introducing it, What should our sign say about it?

You can also included stuff like:
"Enhance any manicure with a "Paraffin Dip". This deep penetration of low temperature paraffin wax promotes a youthful outer appearance as well as added mobility for overworked hands "

"Paraffin therapy is one of the most effective method to relieve pain and stiffness. The warm paraffin also moisturizes for healthier looking, softer skin.

therapy for many different applications from arthritis joint pain relief to salon hand, foot, and facial services. "

Thank you so much!

I was diagnosed with RA about 4 years ago, and it has been fairly uneventful with a few flare ups mostly in the hands with stiffness.

My doctor suggested taken tamoxifen which to me is not even a consideration….. I don’t like the idea of chemo low dose or note. ( does the risk out weigh the benefits? )

When I awaken, my fingers, especially on one hand, are very stiff. Although they loosen somewhat during the day, I would like to find a way to relieve the pain and stiffness. By the way, I prefer not to use any medications at this time.
