I have rheumatoid arthritis, am 26 years old and since moving to Denver have NEVER had so much pain with it! Sure there have been times my whole body would flare up and it wouldn’t be pleasant – but I am noticing more localized pain – specifically the BACK of my knees, my hips, and my shoulders – as well of course as toes and fingers. Why would it be so localized like this and what can I do?

Yes, I am overweight, but have been working on it! This month lost 16 lbs! YAY ME! I also sit long hours for work… but no more than I was before I moved here and am still doing my yoga, belly dancing and walking.

Can anyone help with sudden throbbing hip pain?

OK, Im going to give a little history first, so here it goes.
Im a 32 yr old mom. I already have a diagnosis of Ostioarthritis, and degen. disk disease. I had surgery on my left shoulder because of sudden onset of severe pain and immobility, doc. removed a lot of inflammation and a bone spur along with some of the arthritis he found in there. Didnt help. in the mean time the same sudden pain happened in my right shoulder, still living with that. Among a couple of other problems. Now, today I was standing doing the dishes and my hip began to throb inside the joint, severe pain but it feels just a little different then my shoulders and back especailly considering i have pin and needle feeling running up and down my leg. I cant get comfortable, I can sit, stand or even lay down to get any relief. I have already taken pain medication and it isnt helping…anyone with any ideas PLEASE.

Or is it diagnosed through symptoms?

Im 23.
When I was 10 my family doctor said that I Might have Juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
But we moved after that first appointment, and I have never gone back to the doc sice.
In both of my knees, left mostly, and both shoulders, right mostly, I have always had really bad pain. And sweelling in my knees.

Sometimes it worse then others, and sometimes I dont even notice it.
Its just always been there. Mildly inhibiting. Im a rock climber, and Im a fairly active guy.
I have 2 kids, 3 and 7 months and
Im just curious, cause im getting older ya know.

I dont have most of the Symptoms.. Aside from pain. and Im not a real big guy. I try to gain weight, and Iv never been able to.
Im 125 tops, and im 5′6.
Iv always just figured I had a high metabolism, and Im real a really active guy.
But I hate doctors and dont generally go.. Ever..

Does this sound like a case of Juvenile Arthritis?

For the past couple months, I’ve experienced increasingly painful days. My knees swell up after exercise, and it hurts to walk up and down stairs even if I hadn’t yet ran around. My wrists, elbows, and shoulders occasionally become warmish feeling, and range from irritating to holding-painful. My big toe is actually one of the worse joints affected- it hurts to move it sometimes, but it hurts to just sit around with it, too.

I’m fourteen, and I have a friend that has Juvenile Arthritis.

Is there a chance that I have it, or am I just paranoid?

arthritis? Please help, I’m in pain?

I’m a 55 year old female and have had a little arthritis since in my 20’s. It started in my fingers and seemed to be somewhere different every year. Now is the worse it’s ever been. About six months ago it started getting bad in my hips then my shoulders. Now it’s in my left shoulder only and is exxxxxxxtreemely painful. I went to the Dr. and he gave me pain pills and they didn’t help. Now I’m on an anti-inflammitory and it doesn’t seem to help either. Can anyone tell me how I can get a little relief until I go see the RA in Oct.?

Arthritis? Help?

I have the most horrible pain in my hands today and for the last couple of days. It has been rainy here. It started with my left pointer finger nuckle, very stiff, then all the fingers. Now my right hand is so painful I can barely type, cannot make a fist and it’s a horrible pain to pick up my three month old and carry him. My right wrist appears slightly swollen but not red. Should I use a heating pad? Ice pack? I don’t want to make it worse. I tried 800mg Ibuprophen and Darvocet, made me sick to my stomach but no pain relief.
I’m 33 and this has been going on for about 6 years. It also happens in my shoulders, really bad!!, my knees, my hips and my back.

Would either of those cause me pain in my shoulders and elbows when I was sitting still doing absolutely nothing?

Canine Arthritis Relief?

My beloved 11 yo Spinone is getting stiff in her shoulders, sometimes her rear slides out. She is 80 lbs, and very happy + healthy otherwise. Cleared for hip dysp as a youngster.

She had valley fever but titre-d down and all has been well for a long while.

She would not jump off the bed on Monday, and could not reach a treat on the floor. I elevated food + h20, still had some Rimadyl which vet said to give, and She seems quite fine now. I will decrease dose over next few days + see how she does.

Rimadyl does work. Cleared it up quickly–about 1+1/2 days.

Question: I’d like to know what folks are supplementing, ie what is working for you. She was on Cosequin DS, but I have run out and now wondering if something might be better.
Syn-flex? Shark cartilage? Green lipped mussells? CostCo TriFlex? There is so much out there?

She got very little exercise this summer as it was unbearably hot, and now I am afraid to walk her too much as I don’t want to exacerbate her pain.

Suggestions?
Also wondering about how much walking she can handle…how should I gauge this? Don’t want to go too hard and find her out of it the next day…

My grandpa is suffering from arthritis in his shoulders due to that he does not able to move his arms. I have tried a lot of medical treatment but didn’t work. So i am looking for some natural methods for treatment of arthritis. Thanks.
