Any chance to cure it? Remission? How quickly can it get really bad? Of course she is going to a rheumatologist but during the months she will be waiting for an appointment I would like a little insight as to what the typical prognosis can be.
Her GP did the rest for RA factor and it was positive. She also did the blood tests for Lupus and others that can give a false positive for RA. Those were all negative.

Maybe it’s not the most romantic gift idea but while my hubby waits to see the rheumatologist, are there any appliances that I can buy that will give him some relief from the pain in his hands and feet? I was wondering about those parafin wax things – I’ve heard that a dip in the hot wax can relieve some arthritis pain, but does it really? What about a therapeutic foot bath? Will the hot water and vibration help him at all? Am I even barking up the right tree? Thanks.
His GP diagnosed the RA. He’s made an appointment to see the rheumatologist but hasn’t seen one yet. I think his appointment is in two weeks or so. I just want to know if there are any therapeutic devices that I can buy that might relieve some of his pain in the meantime.

I am currently unsatisfied with my treatment. I am taking hydroxychloriquine & asulfasalizine [spelling is most definately wrong]. I was hopeful when I saw an ad for Orencia, however it is not yet covered under my health plan. I am looking for suggestions for treatments that have worked for other RA sufferers.

She has diagnosed me and prescribed naproxin. My knee is slightly sore during the workday but wakes me out a sound sleep four to five hrs after I drop off. I injured the knee many years ago, but did not have any breaks only brusing. most of what I read seems related to RA and does not seem to apply to me. I am asking if anyone experiences this type of pain and been given the same answers? Heat and/or cold compresses do not seem to help much.

who has RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS??

i cant believe the stuff is sooo crazy, i hope someone can share pain relief secrets or something…someone who actually has it…thanks
nice to hear from everyone, im 27 years old and RA hit me real hard 7 months ago, about two weeks after the birth of my 3rd child, i first thought that i had slept on my shoulder wrong because it was a little sore, but within 3 days i couldnt move my arms at all, then like clock work, my arms, wrists, hands, knees, and feet all started to shut down on both sides of my body, and the pain was just unbearable, i was in and out of the doctors, thought i was suffering from post partum depression, and tried to put me on prozac lol, i refused to take it cus i had a feeling it was ra, because i watched my grama suffer for many years…….so within a month i was diagnosed, i was first given prednisone and it immediately cleared up everything except my wrists and hands, i have been taking prednisone and methotrexate, and i started on humira about a month ago, its only 1 shot every two weeks and i can already feel a world of difference!

arthritis? Please help, I’m in pain?

I’m a 55 year old female and have had a little arthritis since in my 20′s. It started in my fingers and seemed to be somewhere different every year. Now is the worse it’s ever been. About six months ago it started getting bad in my hips then my shoulders. Now it’s in my left shoulder only and is exxxxxxxtreemely painful. I went to the Dr. and he gave me pain pills and they didn’t help. Now I’m on an anti-inflammitory and it doesn’t seem to help either. Can anyone tell me how I can get a little relief until I go see the RA in Oct.?

Rheumatoid Arthritis treatment?

I’ve just been diagnosed with RA. I’m 2 weeks shy of 16 1/2. The Rheumatologist said there’s a small chance that this is just juvenile arthritis which goes away by the time you’re 17. But the fact that it’s this bad this close to me being 17, then most likely this is full-blown adult Rheumatoid Arthritis. I was wondering if there’s any forums for teens or articles about teens or anything that I could read to get some feedback from other RA teens. Please and thank you.

rheumatoid arthritis?

My mom went to the doctor this morning, and they suspect that she has rheumatoid arthritis. Auto-immune disease runs in our family, so its not a huge shock, but no one in our family has RA. She is 61 yrs old, and has pain in her finger and wrist joints. We are waiting to hear back on the blood test. If it is in fact RA, what kind of prognosis is there for a woman her age, with her symptoms? What kind of treatment options are there?

I’m 22 years old and was recently diagnosed with secondary Sjogren’s syndrome with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Is anyone else out there like this? I’ve had symptoms for nearly a decade, and have not started official medication yet. I’m finding it so hard to exercise as fatigue drains every bit of energy I have. Is it normal to have excessive fatigue with RA? It’s been really hard for me to cope with this, seeing as how its so rare for someone my age, and I’m just looking for some support.

Any words of advice are greatly appreciated!

I am 24 years old and I just found out that I have RA (rheumatoid arthritis). I don not want to take medications for the rest of my life and am just wondering if I have any other approaches for treatment options.
