I have heard it is good to relieve pain for arthritis? Is this true? or anything that helps for better pain relief!?

my mother literally feels helpless and depressed when she goes through those acute joint pains. I really cant see her like this, Please help me out with some remedies. We r at Canada so please tell me what can i do to make her live happily again. Also can anyone tell me how much would it cost for her pain relief as i wont be able to stretch my budget a lot. please give me honest and genuine advices.

I have psoriatic arthritis..have had it for over 30 years….the symptoms have been mild enough for hot showers, aspirin, and using the involved joints dispite swelling and pain when they flare but recently my M.D. has prescribed feldene-to take when needed for joint pain.

I was on it for a short period of time when it first came on the market, but my then physician had reservations and I’ve been able to avoid prescription meds for it until now….my lower back and both ankles/knees complain too much at this point and the aspirin only gives partial relief….he tells me it’s almost as safe as aspirin…I’m wondering if anyone else is using it and how successful the pain relief/management has been with it…thanx….
so far I tolerate feldene well….it seems to inhance the diuretic I take for my BP lol so I hafta co-ordinate the two…the first time I used it (when it first came out) it kicked in within 24 hrs and the relief was complete…now it takes about 3 days before I notice a difference, but then all major joints are now involved, not just one like before…..was wondering if anyone has noticed this….and has had any of the side effects….thanx for all replies-arthritis stinks, huh……

nice to hear from everyone, im 27 years old and RA hit me real hard 7 months ago, about two weeks after the birth of my 3rd child, i first thought that i had slept on my shoulder wrong because it was a little sore, but within 3 days i couldnt move my arms at all, then like clock work, my arms, wrists, hands, knees, and feet all started to shut down on both sides of my body, and the pain was just unbearable, i was in and out of the doctors, thought i was suffering from post partum depression, and tried to put me on prozac lol, i refused to take it cus i had a feeling it was ra, because i watched my grama suffer for many years…….so within a month i was diagnosed, i was first given prednisone and it immediately cleared up everything except my wrists and hands, i have been taking prednisone and methotrexate, and i started on humira about a month ago, its only 1 shot every two weeks and i can already feel a world of difference!

I have the most horrible pain in my hands today and for the last couple of days. It has been rainy here. It started with my left pointer finger nuckle, very stiff, then all the fingers. Now my right hand is so painful I can barely type, cannot make a fist and it’s a horrible pain to pick up my three month old and carry him. My right wrist appears slightly swollen but not red. Should I use a heating pad? Ice pack? I don’t want to make it worse. I tried 800mg Ibuprophen and Darvocet, made me sick to my stomach but no pain relief.
I’m 33 and this has been going on for about 6 years. It also happens in my shoulders, really bad!!, my knees, my hips and my back.

Does anyone know if this medication is like a vicodin or codeine? I got it from my dr for pain relief for my arthritis and just wondering why i was given this and if anyone else out there takes it do they get any kind of relief from it cause i sure don’t

Who has a home remedy for arthritis? A mixed concoction, balm or any other ingredients. I use blue goo ( emu oil with aloe, msm) fast/acting pain relief gel but I always manage to rub into my eyes (smarts up). I’ll return what I think is a best answer. Have a good night. :0)

i have fibromyalgia and arthritis…i was addicted to vicodin and abused it to great extent for over a year. now that i have gotten off of it with the help of suboxen, my pain issues are back. i have to do something and have an appt. with my neurologist tomorrow. wondering is ultram going to cause a reaction in my brain to make me want more. i know it is a "semi-narcotic" but i never "enjoyed" taking it before and i know that it does work. now that my med tolerance is back down to normal im considering ultram and lyrica but i am scared. ive been clean for 23 days and proud. i definitely do NOT want to go back into the old patterns even tho i cannot get another prescription from my doc for vicodin and i am attending NA meetings regularly i am still afraid..anyone experienced in this subject. i know there are supposedly people out there addicted to ultram, God knows how lol but my ONLY interest here is pain relief. going with excersice and other natural remedies are fine and all but sometimes the pain is excruciating and i do NEED something to take it down a couple of notches…just NO NARCOTICS at least not vicodin. thanks!!!

LOOKING FOR A DRUG TO USE FOR PAIN OTHER THAN VICODIN, OXYCONTIN ETC….IM A RECOVERING ADDICT AND AM SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING TO ASK MY DOC ABOUT FOR PAIN RELIEF..I HAVE BEEN ON VICODIN (HYDROCODONE) FOR 3 YEARS AND CANNOT!!!! TAKE IT ANYMORE…SUBOXONE HELPED ME GET THRU CRAVINGS AND WITHDRAWAL AND I KNOW IT IS EITHER USED FOR PAIN MANAGMENT OR DETOX BUT HOW ABOUT BOTH??? MY DOCTOR IS A NEUROLOGIST WHO IS TREATING ME FOR FIBROMYALGIA AND ARTHRITIS AND I TOLD HIM MYSELF THAT I HAD BECOME ADDICTED SO WE ARE WORKING ON FINDING AN ALTERNATIVE. ANY SUGGESTIONS???? I ONLY!!!
