My mom has been having severe pain in her shin that radiates up to her knee. The local Drs. can’t find any reason why. She has had an ultrasound and xrays that show nothing but a small trace of arthritis in the knee. she is taking vicodin and an anti-inflammatory and nothing is helping. Heat doesn’t help much, nor does an topical ointments. We are at our wits end. She hasn’t slept well in a week. It bothers her more after she goes to bed and in the middle of the night. She is 78 yrs old. Any suggestions on where to turn next.

I’m sixteen and my mom is convinced that drinking cherry juice helps reduce the sypmtoms of psoriatic arthritis and I don’t think it does because when I drank it everyday, once a day, for about two weeks it didn’t seem to help, only my pain killer medicine does. I hate cherry juice and she keeps making me drink it, but I tell her that I don’t think it helps. Does anyone know if it actually helps or not?

I’m currently 17 years old, and I turn 18 in July. I live in Georgia. I have fibromyalgia/psoriatic arthritis. Does medicaid work for me? Or should I go another route? I don’t have a job right now, and I still live with my mom. But I do plan to move out during the summer hopefully, but if I do, I think I’ll lose my insurance. I also am wanting to live with a friend, or a friend and her mother. How would that work out with the whole insurance thing? I got a million questions and don’t know where to start, lol.

I got into a bicycle accident yesterday. Landed on my chin. I got 7 stitches to close my chin up, and I have a small jaw fracture. I saw the dentist today, who referred me to an oral surgeon. I didn’t lose any teeth in the accident, however, 2 of them were cracked, and there are horizontal fractures on both. The dentist thinks she’ll have to pull them both. I’m 23, so there’s no way I’m ready to go through life missing teeth, so implants are an option. How safe are they? Infection wise? Does anybody have tooth implants? Or do any dental professionals know any research on it? My mom thinks my history of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis could cause a relapse with something foreign in my body.

My mom has terrible arthritis pain in both knees. Right now surgery is out of the question because it’s too expensive. Does anyone know of any home remedies or vitamins that would help relieve the pain my mom is having?

Ever since I could remember I would always get these cramps in my knee. My mom says there from the cold since i walk around barefooted all day because I hate socks and slippers. But im not sure that’s why because i get them in the summer too and recently they’ve been cracking a lot more and hurting a lot more too. All my brothers and sisters get them too and my mom had juvenile arthritis in her knees when she was my age(btw im 14 and im healthy not overweight or anything) could it be genetic? or is it really just from the cold? Maybe growing pains?

My mom was advised by her doctor to have knee replacement surgery due to her arthritis. However, since she’s diabetic, he also advised that she lose 30-50 pounds prior to surgery. Her diet is fine, but she really needs to incorporate more exercise to help get the weight off. Besides water aerobics, what are some low impact exercises she can do that would put pressure and strain on her knees? Thanks.

My mom has arthritis in her knees. It is to the point where she gets surgery every few years to have it scraped out. I was wondering, if your mom has arthritis, are the chances any higher that you will also have arthritis? Also what can you do to prevent getting arthritis? Thank you.
