My grandmother has had rheumatoid arthritis for a fair amount of time now. She was recently hospitalised for a few days, then released home under conditions of a family member moving in with her. Furthermore, she has had severe blood clots in her lower legs (the reason for hospitalisation), great difficulty talking or walking, and overall great fatigue. Should we b expecting her to pass away within a few days, or is there still more time?
~Thank you for any and all responses during this time
In response to the nurse who replied-
She is currently 79 going on 80 and in very poor general health. She has chosen to go against doctor’s orders and self-medicate her medicine- meaning she takes it very rarely, if ever. She falls constantly and has had events similar to a seizure.

I have arthritis, my knee swells and it becomes painful. I have been taking Aleve but I doesn’t work as well anymore. Does anyone know of a better medicine or maybe a better method of dealing with the symptoms?

I was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis when I was 4 years old. About a year or two later we got it under control and later it went into remission. It was in remission until after I had my son. Giving birth triggered the arthritis… either that or the epideral. Now it is active and I want to find medications to get it under control. My doctor gives me the same medicine but I don’t want to take pills everyday for the rest of my life. Isn’t there some other medication that I could take?
The meds that they have prescribed me does give me bad side effects. Thats why I have stopped taking them and now I’m in so much pain. Thanks for the answers from everyone! Will put it to good use!

I have a female German Shepherd mix Retriever, we believe. She is 12 1/2 years of age and has shown minor symptoms of arthritis. Tonight she was having difficulty getting up and made a slight whine when she was doing it. She limped for a moment, then walked normally. Now every time she gets up the same thing happens. I suspect that it is arthritis and will call her vet in the morning. I checked for sore spots on her hind quarters and she showed no pain or tenderness when pressing the areas.
If it is arthritis, can you please advise what is the best medical treatment or that has worked for your dog and what what medicine, minerals or vitamins worked the best.
She recently had her senior check and all was well. She is incontinent and takes a low dose of Proin and Greens Ums (that is all natural). Thank you in advance for any information that you can supply.
