OK, Im going to give a little history first, so here it goes.
Im a 32 yr old mom. I already have a diagnosis of Ostioarthritis, and degen. disk disease. I had surgery on my left shoulder because of sudden onset of severe pain and immobility, doc. removed a lot of inflammation and a bone spur along with some of the arthritis he found in there. Didnt help. in the mean time the same sudden pain happened in my right shoulder, still living with that. Among a couple of other problems. Now, today I was standing doing the dishes and my hip began to throb inside the joint, severe pain but it feels just a little different then my shoulders and back especailly considering i have pin and needle feeling running up and down my leg. I cant get comfortable, I can sit, stand or even lay down to get any relief. I have already taken pain medication and it isnt helping…anyone with any ideas PLEASE.
does anyone have experience with this in releiving arthritis pain on a shelty? she isn’t crying from pain but she is moving very slowly with hardness in her hips. she’s 9 years old. reputable and inexpensive place to buy the medication?
It breaks my heart to see my 12 year old girl in pain due to her arthritis. One regular vet recommended Cosequin DS and another vet prescribed pain medication. Is it safe to use both the pain medication to temporarily reliefs the pain while the Cosequin kicks in which I understand takes some time to see improvements? I found some dog aspirin in petco. Ugh but Idk which is best or if it ok to give her both at once to treat her symptoms.
I am right at the point of not being able to handle the pain!!
Has anyone ever found any kind of relief from the pain and other symptoms of arachnoiditis? Or know someone who has?
I would like to learn what other people are doing to help with the pain!
Has anyone heard of using an anti-cytokine medication, like, Thalidomide for treating the pain. It is used in people who suffer with Rheumotoid Arthritis and Crohn’s Disease. I read about this on www.govhealthtrial.com (I think) It is in the process of still being tried out.
If there is any information that can help, I would be forever grateful.
I’ve searched, for years, for some kind of relief. There has to be something!!!
My mother suffers from osteo arthritis. She is on medication alright. But she limps whilst walking and suffers from regular pain. Is there anything other than medication which might provide her relief?
I was diagnosed with Juvenal Rheumatoid Arthritis when I was 11, since then I’ve been taking Diclofinac sodium, I’m 23 now. As a result I have an ulcer from the medication somewhere in my intestines. the major kind of pain I experience is not in my joints but muscular. especially now that I’m not taking the Diclofinac
I have an 18 yo cat. He has serious hyperthyroid, high blood pressure, arthritis, and his vision is bad. His kidneys are OK but on the downward slide, and his liver is iffy.
Every time I go to the vet they say, "Well, he’s not getting better. Let’s adjust his medications, and bring him back in 3 weeks–plus I’d like to add another medication." These visits and tests run me close to 0, and of course they never have a clue what the medications cost. I’ve been through this several times now.
Well, he’s not going to get "better"–he’s 18! What will all these adjustments really achieve, besides costing a fortune and denying me the chance to really deal psychologically with the fact that my cat is slowly dying. But they only write the prescriptions for a few weeks at a time, so I have to go back.
Can I/should I say I don’t want to do any more blood panels, and insist they just renew the prescriptions he’s on for some reasonable period like 6 months?
How can I say this? His quality of life is still OK, I just want to pick a medication level and stick with that until it’s time to put him down, and just monitor things like his weight to see how it’s working.
I didn’t say I wanted to put him down, I said his quality of life is OK now. But they’re talking long-term treatments on a cat who doesn’t have a long-term ahead. His numbers don’t have to be perfect if he’s not going to live long enough for it to matter.
I am only 25, but have suffered from Psoriatic Arthritis that was debilitating. In fact, my Rheumotologist advised me not to exercise because of the stress on my joints. Now that I am on a new medication and feeling amazing I want to get on track and lose some weight. I have a two year old and thought a treadmill or stationary bike would be great. However, what about those things like the ab lounge? Do they really work? I don’t want to work out with weights because i would be doing this alone. What would be my best bet for shedding some stomach flab and getting into shape?
It started a couple of years ago right after i had my baby, i was fine until i got on the comp. one day and matched my symptoms up with cancer, and i freaked myself out….it was nothing but i really thought i was dying of cancer..i made myself sick!!! i turned into a hypochondriac. always though i had something… after lots of therapy and medication i got well. and than a year later i was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis (a very aggressive type of arthritis) and now im getting that anxiety again, not because of the disease but cause of the meds. i have to take for it. the side affects freak me out, and now my husband is going on a business trip and im terrified he gonna bring me home something….and it never ends…just worrying over nothin. how can i stop this?? its crazy i started taking ant depressants but no relief. what can i do to stop this??? any advice would help save the rude comments please..
