Do I have IT band sydrome or knee arthritis?

In 2004 I fell on my right knee and got a meniscus tear. One year later i has surgery and the doc trimmed the tear. Since then I still get a bit of stifness and locking ocassionally but not as bad as before. Now two months ago I was sleeping and I suddenly both my legs starting aching so badly. It was almost like something was attacking my legs. Both knee caps became tight at the same time and I couldn’t sleep, The next day the pain went but my left knee also started hurting (this is the good knee). Since then I have this burning sensation on the side of my knee cap(outer side) on both knees. Both knees feel weak and i always feel a burning sensation (like joints or bones are rubbing constanly), I am very worried. The doc claims I have IT band syndrome but I think it might be something else. I’ve also starting getting muscle spasms on the knees and hip area. I also must mention my hips sting as well but very little. I hope it’s not arthritis.
Update: yest the horrid burning sensation along with the muscle grinding feeling just dissappeared. I don’t know how but now I have a cold sensation in the side of my knee cap on my right now. feels icy cold and when i stand feels like there is a knot or tight muscle in my knee. when i put my ear to my knee i can hear the sound when you run a baloon. it’s weird. could it be liquid?? what is going on with my knees?

My doctor said that it is not but why do I hurt all the time. My legs and hips never stop hurting.

My friend just found out that she has OsteoArthritis in her leggs and hips and back? She is only 22 years old and everything that I have seen online seems to be for older people. She is in a lot of pain and just wants to know if anyone has any input…..

I had it, I had a mild case of it, I had it in : my neck, fingers, wrist, feet, ankles, hips, shoulders. I had two feet surgries.

the pain is mostly in her hips, and a little in the front limbs. she is a long hair German Shepard… thank you,
And i would take her to the vet, but i can not afford the vet fees

After suffering bad knee and hip pain for over 2 years and an athroscopy and lateral release on my right knee the NHS have finally diagnosed osteoarthritis in both knees, both hips, my right hand and various other parts of my body.

Last week I had a gel injection (Duralone) in each knee and there has been an improvement in mobility and definitely much less pain. I have now been out on my bike for the last 4 days with no problems.

I am in my late 40's and have a background of long distance running and cycling – I was doing around 300 miles a week on the bike until the problems began.

I do not want to compete in the future but I do want to get into shape again. How do I put back on the muscle I've lost and lose the lard I've gained without doing myself further damage?

I had a car run over me two years ago and since then I have gotten severe osteoarthritis in both of my knees, feet, hips, lower back and hands. I have no synovial fluid left in my knees and rubbing bone on bone. When I get up in the morning, I have to shuffle because my feet will not function. I think that is all I can explain at this time. Thanks

If my joint pain isnt arthritis what is it?

I am 25 and started having knee pain about 5 years ago when I went into the army. Over the next five years other joints have started hurting. Like my elbows, shoulders, and hips. My doctor did a blood test and it said negative for arthritis. Could it still be? Or what else could it be? They hurt even when I am not working out.
