Can I have arthritis at the age of 16?

I found a big bump on the back of my knee and it hurts to walk now. Ive had this pain for about two weeks now. Also, Arthritis is genetic in my family, my mother has it and her mother (my grandmother) has arthritis as well. So is it possible I can have arthritis at 16?

Knee pain for a few days? Bursitis, Arthritis?

I’ve had knee pain for the last few days, tried ibuprofen and ice, but it’s still there. The weather has just allowed me to start walking outdoors again, and I really need to walk! The pounds started coming right back on as soon as the weather got cold and rainy and I couldn’t walk. This morning I had to cut my walk short. Walking in the early mornings is the only way I get regular exercise. The Wii Fit is good, but it’s in the same room and the computer and that’s too tempting!

The pain feels like it’s right between the kneecap and the bone that connects on the inside. I have an idea it may be bursitis, but I’m not sure. My grandmother had serious arthritis, and my mother has it some, and I kind of expect that I will too, at some point. I’m 48, so it may be coming sooner than I want!

Can you distinguish between bursitis and arthritis by the way it feels? Or do you know what else this might be? I hope it’s nothing that would involve a muscle relaxant, because the only muscles they relax are my eyelids, and they give me nightmares!

I’d feel kind of silly going to the doctor, because I was just there the other day for something else. I have a toddler to keep up with, and my house is a disaster! Staying off it will be difficult, and I’m not sure if I should try or not, if it would help. I need my body to cooperate! I also have chorus competition coming up, and I really need to wear heels for a few hours that day!

How long should I let this go before I have to see the doctor? Any other advice?

Thanks!
I don’t think I tore anything. Surely I would have noticed at the time!
I have realized that it’s on both sides of the kneecap, between the kneecap and the leg bones.

My grandmother, good health mentally and physically, she has horrible trouble with her knees. If it were not for her knee condition she’d be travelling alot, doing alot more with her friens, etc. I don’t think her natural death is going to happen anytime soon. Would it be worth it for her to undergo the procedure?

A question about Arthritis ?

My mom has been complaining of having bouts of arthritis, and she has been taking 1000mg of Glucosamine daily but she still feels that it is not enough. She keeps complaining about the pain in the entire body.
She walks daily for 5-10 minutes ( slow walks).

Her back aches and she has to take Panadol once or twicea and apply Ammeltz Yoko Yoko (a Menthol and a Eucalyptus balm) on her knees everyday to alleviate the pain, even if its temporary relief.
Incidently, 4 years ago she was knocked down by a motorcycle and ever since, she has always got pain in the shin bone. But the doctor’s X/ray reveal there is no fracture whatsoever.
Her side of the family ( mother, grandmother) all suffer from arthritis at old age.
She has diabetes and High blood pressure as well.

What are some of the things or remedies that can cure the Arthritis condition and make the pain go away ?

I’ve always had this problem. I stretch all the time before games and I warm as well which does help me out a lot, but after taking several jump shots the feeling seems to kick back in late during games. I heard Noni Juice works, my grandmother has arthritis real bad and a doctor recommended it for her. Do you think this will help bursitis or tendonitis if it helps my grandmother’s arthritis? Do you have any other ideas?

rheumatoid arthritis?

My grandmother has had rheumatoid arthritis for a fair amount of time now. She was recently hospitalised for a few days, then released home under conditions of a family member moving in with her. Furthermore, she has had severe blood clots in her lower legs (the reason for hospitalisation), great difficulty talking or walking, and overall great fatigue. Should we b expecting her to pass away within a few days, or is there still more time?

~Thank you for any and all responses during this time
In response to the nurse who replied-
She is currently 79 going on 80 and in very poor general health. She has chosen to go against doctor’s orders and self-medicate her medicine- meaning she takes it very rarely, if ever. She falls constantly and has had events similar to a seizure.

A couple of months ago I noticed that when I bend down, I experience pain in my left knee. It’s stiff! I recently began doing these range of motion exercises while i’m lying down in the bed but I really don’t understand why this is happening. I have not seen a doctor about it yet, but my grandmother had arthritis. Could this be premature arthritis…it’s painful and embarrassing. Help please…..!

Topical Pain Relief. Preferably Natural?

Is there any natural Topical Pain Relief product out there? Preferably something that would help with joint pains and occasional migraines. My Grandmother suffers from arthritis pain in her hands and knees and i keep getting killer migraines in the winters. Any help would be appreciated

My grandmother needs to have at least one knee replaced, but she worries that she will still have the same arthritic pain? She has osteo arthritis…which is bone…so if no bone, no pain?

All experiences and expertise welcome.

Thank you very much for your help! :)

My grandmother has arthritis in her hands and she takes medication, but it only helps to a certain extent.

I was wondering if there were any supplements or natural treatments that may help her?
