When I spoke to my Doctors about it they just assumed with treatments. These treatments are not working.
I am only 18 years old. I have had this disease for eleven years, it started as Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis for around 4 years it went into remission and came back to as Rheumatoid Arthritis. I don’t know what to do. I search on the internet for some things but I don’t any straight answers.

I was told i had arthritis in knee, bone spurs and extra water in my knee by my doctor. My doctor told me this at 17 and did not seem concerned at all. Pain is Very bad at time and feeling like its about to give out and have been wearing braces with hinges is there anything else i could do? Would knee replacement help?
Im not seeing anyone to help hardly any special doctors in my town and im not driving 6 hrs away to go to a better town. I was told i Had it 3 years ago and have been living with the pain. It has its good and bad days just like with anything else more so worst during winter months then summer. My doctor did not seem to care to much that a 17 year old guy has all this. I admit im pretty hard on my body. I don’t know how bad it gets over years if i should go back and talk more about it but he just told me oh your still growing it should stop i have pretty well stopped growing a lot just looking for a way out to help. I know knee surgery is a huge deal but if it fixes it so i can live happier then i would do it. My doctor has not even mention about surgery at all.

I’m 46 years old, I’m a very sport man, suddenly I had a pain in my right knee 4 months ago. After I made X-ray, doctors said that it is knee osteoarthiritis.
I’d like to come back to my sport as quick as possible.

About a week back, my left feet became swollen and turned red. the pain was so excruciating, I couldn’t set my foot on the floor. First it was diagnosed as gout but my uric acid level is well within the normal range. So the doctors decided it was arthritis and suggested treatment for it. Now my feet don’t hurt that much but it still gets swollen when I walk around. It that normal for arthritis? Could it be an injury from stressed ligaments?

My brother was just diagnosed. Is there anything non-medical that I can do for him? Anything that will help relieve some of his symptoms that the doctors can’t help with?

My mother is 65 and weighs about 170 lbs. She suffers from knee pain on her right knee. She has seen arthritis doctors, and, so far, they have not been able to help her. I don’t think that she actually has arthritis.
I understand that if she looses some weight then maybe she’d get some relief but she can’t really do any exercise because of the pain. Its a vicious cycle.
Does anyone know of any OTC pain relief that works on this kind of pain? Or even a supplement that could help her?

I wake up many times during the night in pain. My joints and muscles hurt from head to toe most of the time. I stay tired all the time. My iron level stays low. I am currently on prescribe medication which only helps a little. I really do not like to take medicine and especially when the doctors tells me I have to be on it for the rest of my life. I have tried several different natural remedies but nothing seems to work. I was hoping someone else with these diagnoses has found the miracle cure for this. Thank you and wish you always with good health.

I was diagnosed with RA in 2000. I have suffered with chronic pain for years, mostly in the winter months. My doctors are not sympathetic-I have tried pain management clinics-specialists-surgeons etc. No relief. Pain meds, ugh…doctors are so nervous the rather let me suffer. WHY?
They wish for me to continue therapy. Im so depressed, I ache all night long-killing my sex drive-poor hubby-I toss and turn all night.
Anyone have any advice with dealing with this illness or doctors. I feel so alone, Im young and am so worried about getting older and worse. This disease consumes my life during the winter. I can’t drive, eat, cook, type or write without tears in my eyes. My hubby thinks it is all in my head. I cant even play with my kids! I am on the search for a new doc. with empathy. How in the world can I manage anymore. I feel like a failure at work, home and as a wife. My grandma had RA and she was a crippled mess of a woman by time she was 65. Any advice would be appreciated.
