i had been running on a track to get into shape every day, and my knees got sore after a week so i stopped. now they are not getting better, but worse; i can hardly walk across my house…my dad had a knee replacement due to arthritis, and i was wondering if a joint injury can set off this condition in people that may be prone to it. i am only 39 and never had anything like this before.
i know it sounds nuts but i am in a lot of pain and cant afford a doctor. any suggestions?

Well my dad just found out he has arthritis in his knee and I just want to know what can he do other than just take medicine. Does he have to change his diet, life style, exercises, etc.

My right knee has been hurting for days, mostly when I bend my leg. A small lump has developed where the pain is, and when I exercise, there have been some instances where my knee wants to give out. I am only 20 years old right now. My dad told me, however, that he was diagnosed with arthritis in his right knee when he was twenty. I don’t know if it was rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis with which he was diagnosed. Who do I go to for a diagnosis? Do I just ask my regular doctor?

After hurting my elbow when my dad and I were playing soccer (he tripped me and held onto my arm as I fell; it twisted a bit), I initially had pain in that elbow. My parents did not believe that it was hurt, so I didn’t go see any doctor to fix it.
A year later, I went to the hospital because I simply could not move it. It wasn’t just that it was painful (and so swollen the X-Ray could not see the bones), it was cemented in a limited motion.
The hospital was worried that it could be juvenile arthritis, but didn’t find anything unusual. They put a partial cast on my arm and that’s it.
It’s still stuck in the same way though. Think of a Barbie Doll’s arm; that’s exactly the range of motions mine has. It’s painful and annoying to have your arm not be able to relax (not to mention I look a little silly).
Can anyone help me? I’m at my wits end!
It was a children’s hospital, so I can’t go back (I’m 18 now).
It’s not that it doesn’t respond, it just cannot flex in a range of motions. To try and touch my shoulder feels like I’m bending it backwards. It feels like it’ll snap!

I went to a week long night camp and came back and found a tick on my left hip. The longest it could have been there is 1 1/2 days. It was really really grey and tiny and I had a family member take it out w/ tweezers and my dad was sure it was all out. There was no redness, but the day after it started to get red around it and a few days later it was itchy and the redness spread. About 3 weeks later it started peeling and it still is now. The circle of redness is about 4 inches in diameter, and looks sorta like sunburn and peels like sunburn. It doesn’t look like a bullseye rash either. It itches just a little bit and I have been putting hydrocortisone and neosporin on it. Do you think I am allergic to tick bites or what? Should I go to the doctor?

I haven’t had any lyme-disease symptoms but it is hard to tell for joint soreness because I have mild juvenile arthritis. I feel fine otherwise. I take multiple medications for that and I have been on antibiotics for an infected ingrown toenail, but I am off of it tomorrow.

My Dad has arthritis and I’d like to give him something he can use to help comfort him (He’s been a mailman for 28 years and has it in his hands). Yes, he’s been to the doctor and he’s recieving treatment but still has pain. Is there any type on soothing gloves or maybe something that can help him do exercises. Thanks!

Please Help my dad is 47 and he is so much pain it hurts to see my dad hurting his bones are all swollen all his joints he is a field worker a hispanic and his bones are getting deformed he is at the point were he cant work let alone get up in the mornings i dont know much about this Arthritis i am hopeing that there is something that will releave the pain do you know? Also can my dad collect disability we live in Washington State? he has used every over the counter pain releaver nothing works is there anything that will help relieve the pain? please help me with anything it hurts me to see my dad this way and now my sister is getting it

My dad has osteoarthritis and osteopenia in his low back. Additionally, he has a slipped disc. Are there any stretches or exercises that can help lessen his pain?

i am looking for a heating cream for my dad he has pain in his knees .i found tiger balm is a good product yet. is there any product stronger than that? if not where can i buy it in orange count ,ca ? is american store and chinese store have the same tiger balm or its better to buy from the chinese store? and how many level it has ? i mean medium ,strong ……?!
