I have a 7 year old son with severe knee pain?

My 7 year old son about 2 months ago started to complain that his knees hurt. As the month went on, it got worse. We took him to the doctor who ran a bunch of blood tests. Lyme test negative, normal results for normal blood work. His SED rate was slightly higher (meaning he had a swollen joint….we knew that) and ONE of his ANA results was slightly high as well. We were told to go to a rheumitolist which we are, but not until 8/28. Each day the knees seem worse. Motrin helps slightly and he is walking like an old man. Our pediatrician said it could be juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. He is very into sports and the idea of him having arthritis at such a young age is scaring me. Has anyone out there ever heard of a child having this? OR what else could it be? BE HONEST!!! Details, symptoms, etc. Thanks for any advice. PS. We ruled out growing pains as they do not last this long and you do not get swollen knees from that.

Absoulte Lymphocyte trending lower?

I have been taking a coctail of Methotrexate (weekly), Celebrex 200mg daily and Prednisone (recently reduced to every other day) for the past 2+ years for Psoriatic Arthritis. I have blood work done every few months. All of my scores are in the normal range except Abs Lymphocyte, which has been trending lower and is now down to 1.1 (x10E9/L) where 1.5 is considered low. Should I be concerned about this trend and level? If so, any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Treatment for mild dog arthritis?

After ruling out other possible problems with extensive blood work and a physical, my vet thinks that the most likely cause for by 9-yr-old Boston Terrier’s irritability and loss of interest in play is mild inflammation of his joints. She prescribed a few ml of a drug called Metacam, which she described as being "like Motrin for dogs." The drug has helped him a lot, but it’s for a tiny bottle (30 day supply). I’m wondering if there is a less expensive, effective treatement, or a source for vet drugs that’s not so prohibitive. (I’m already giving him glucosamine and chondroitin supplements)

One night my son woke me up in the middle of the night that his knee was swollen. The next day, we noticed that it had water/fluid on/in it. In talking to him, he has had no accidents nothing that he can remember to have hurt his knee. Took him to an orthopod on Monday and he has us going to see a Rhumatologist and going in for MRI and blood work. He really isnt in any pain, only when he squats down or does bends his knee under pressure.

I am not familiar with these conditions, anyone have any ideas? That is just what he could come up with why a very healthy/active 15 year old would just start having these symptoms.

Do I Have Juvenile Rheumatory Arthritis?

I'm female, and 13 years old. Ive been experiencing pain in both my knee joints for about 2 years now (tried physio, acupuncture etc.)is when it's gotten unbearable. I play hockey and I'm a goalie and I'm worried it's making it worse, I also had an x-ray about a week ago (awaiting results) and blood work tomorrow, I also have a pink colored rash around my knees consistently, is it me, or does it have something to do with disease?

His blood work came back positive, he's getting a second test done but we're pretty sure he has it. I know what Rheumatoid Arthritis is but I don't know what really happens to the body other than the splaying of hands. Can somebody shed some light? We're really nervous.
