About knee arthritis.?

I suffered a minor ACL tear of my right knee about 16 years ago. Didnt require surgery, just some PT that i slacked on. Now, anytime I do anything strenuous, such as last week’s job that involved moving heavy furniture, I find my knee swollen, and almost unable to bend it. Stairs and ramps are a killer too. I can function, and indeed do still walk and work around, but I’d like to hear some good homegrown remedies for it. I have been taking ibuprofen regularly to combat the swelling, and have been using Capazin ointment, but to no real avail. I have to be on my feet 8 hours a day at least to work, on concrete floors and ladders. Just bought some new shoes, but nothing expensive, and i am using insoles. I need some relief! Help! Thanks!

I am asking on behalf of my mother who has had osteoarthritis in her hands for over thirty years (thumb joint area) and has tried many and varied forms of treatment including most recently a hydro cortisone injection and all to no avail.
I was wondering if there is anyone who has or who knows of anyone with a similar condition who has found anything which has produced positive results. She is in Scotland so perhaps certain treatments may not be accessible although perhaps online purchasing can be enquired into.

Any feedback would be appreciated

Thanks.

Scalp psoriasis remedies?

I have severe plaque psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. I use Enbrel, an expensive biologic drug that works for the arthritis but not so much the skin stuff- especially scalp. I alternate coal tar shampoo and Sal acid shampoo, used topical steroids to no avail. Any advice?
I know, I wish coal tar worked. The thing about UV is I would need to shave my lovely locks (not really). I haven’t seen my scalp but I imagine it is pretty pitted and scarred from the chunks of dead skin I pick off of it constantly (not exaggerating) so I would rather not shave my head- though tempting.
