I had surgery in my stomach yesterday and my Dr. prescribed Vicodin 500mg. Well, the vicodin, 500mg, alone, isn’t reliefing my pain. Therefore, I’ve take 2 (two) tablets at a time and again no relief. A friend said that her pharmastis said she could take 1 (one) Ibuprophen with the her Vicoden 750mg. This "cocktail" has helped her often, therefore, my question is: can I take 1 (one) "Aleve ARTHRITIS" 220mg with my Vicodin, 500mg, tablet?

I’ve been tentatively diagnosed with some form of inflammatory arthritis. It started in my foot, and moved to my knee. I’ve had 2 MRIs, a bone scan, and Xrays and they are saying arthritis.
I’ve also had alot of bloodwork and everything looks normal except for my sed rate which is significantly elevated.
I am seeing a rheumatologist. At my 1st appointment she put me on 10mg of prednisone a day. She acted like I would feel a difference right away. After a week with no relief I went back to see a physician’s assistant. She doubled my dose of prednisone so now I am on 20mg a day. She said it should make me feel at least 50% better. The problem is that my knee is incredibly swollen and sore in the morning and evening. She didnt say that the prednisone would take care of all the swelling, but it sounded like it should help with the swelling and with the pain.
Its 1.5 weeks later and my knee is still huge and sore. The soreness I can deal with, aleve helps. I want a normal sized knee!

We are in the economic crisis, losing our business, and just a few weeks from having to leave our home. We have been living on credit cards, which are almost maxed out. Our two older labs are now on Metacam and Tramadol for arthritis pain, but we can no longer afford it. We have had them on one aspirin per day previously, but it doesn’t seem to give them any relief. We’d like to try Aleve, as it seems to work for my boyfriend and myself really well, but do not know if dogs tolerate it well. Does anyone have any knowledge of human meds that our dogs may take, (besides baby aspirin and adult aspirin), that may help with arthritis?

I’m having a hard time with my ankles more than my knees. They don’t bother me unless I’m on my feet too long, then I can hardly stand; and the pain is pretty bad. What are you doing for yourself? I was taking Celebrex, but stopped because it got too expensive; now I’m taking Aleve but I think my body has become immune too it. I can’t afford to go to a doctor and I have no health insurance. Any suggestions?

I have rheumatoid arthritis and a friend of mine told me to take one aleve tablet with 3,000mg of MSM. I would like to know if this is going to work because I’m not sure about this.

especially while I’m at work. My doc told me to take "Aleve" but it states on the label to take only for 10 days. I also take "Osteo Bi-Flex"–is there anything else that will help-I’m on my feet most of the time. What about the elastic knee supports-any good? Any help would be appreciated….thanks!

How does it compare to Aleve for relief of minor arthritis pain? Do you have to take it all the time for a build up like with nsaids, or can you take it just when you need it?

FOR ARTHRITIS IN A 96 YRS OLD GAL–Is it okay to take 200mg of Celebrex in the evening with 500mg of Tylenol during the day? Is Aleve more effective? Any other helpful suggestions for extremely painful hand arthritis?
