Here’s the back story. I became dependent on Fioracet with Codeine, which was prescribed to me for nearly 3 years (stress induced headaches). Anyway, I quit taking them because I moved to a different state, thus ending my relationship with the doctor that prescribed them. At the same time, I had two separate dental procedures within a 2 week period and was prescribed Percocet on each occasion. After recovering from the oral surgeries, and going through the prescribed pain pills, I began to feel the effects of opiate withdrawal. It was HELL. A friend of mine told me about Suboxone and how it could ease my withdrawal pain. So, after the fourth day of misery, I went to a licensed Suboxone doctor and got a prescription. It worked great, and I felt back to my old self. I didn’t want to be on the drug very long, but a week later I was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis by my primary care physician.

On my next trip back to the Sub-Doc, I told her about my new diagnosis and she told me to stay on the Suboxone because it also helps with pain. So I stayed on it for 21 months until I could no longer afford it. IRONY – the withdrawal from Suboxone lasted 4x’s as long and was at least 2x’s as intense as my previous withdrawal.

So, now that I’m off of everything (except for Humira injections for my arthritis), and in constant pain, I wonder if the stigma of Suboxone will prevent a doctor from prescribing me pain relief, which I feel I need. Keep in mind, I didn’t tell the doctor that I was ever on Suboxone, but they knew (Big Brother?). When the doc brought it up, I felt like I was instantly scrutinized. I also felt shame for the first time. Any one have any advice, suggestions?

Is there arthritis medicine for dogs?

My dog is young but she will have arthritis due to serious knee surgeries i need something to give her now to help with the progression. Does anyone know of anything?
She has taken rimadyl before it scares me to give it to her because of the posssible side effects like liver and kidney damage, She is only 3 years old so I dont want to give her anything to harsh on her body just something to slow progression if possible.

I was diagnosed with juvenile arthritis in my right hand about 3 years ago, and now my left knee is starting to feel the same as my hand does. I’m worried because I’m going to a HUGE two day event where we’re going to be walking around for about 10 hours the first day, and 12 hours the next. Not too long ago I was walking around just for an hour after work, and my left knee seriously felt like jelly, so how do I tend to my knee? Are the certain types of foods that I can eat to help ease the pain, and what excersices and stretches are there that I could do before, during, and after my 2day event?
I would much appreciate someone’s help, even if this isn’t the most exciting question to answer.

I had a Total Knee Replacement on my left knee 3 years ago. I had some arthritis in both knees. The right knee wasn’t too bad at that time. Now it pains when I bend it & it has some swelling. I have no plans to have another TKR. Would walking help strengthen it or not?

Anything to help with arthritis in knee?

I was told i had arthritis in knee, bone spurs and extra water in my knee by my doctor. My doctor told me this at 17 and did not seem concerned at all. Pain is Very bad at time and feeling like its about to give out and have been wearing braces with hinges is there anything else i could do? Would knee replacement help?
Im not seeing anyone to help hardly any special doctors in my town and im not driving 6 hrs away to go to a better town. I was told i Had it 3 years ago and have been living with the pain. It has its good and bad days just like with anything else more so worst during winter months then summer. My doctor did not seem to care to much that a 17 year old guy has all this. I admit im pretty hard on my body. I don’t know how bad it gets over years if i should go back and talk more about it but he just told me oh your still growing it should stop i have pretty well stopped growing a lot just looking for a way out to help. I know knee surgery is a huge deal but if it fixes it so i can live happier then i would do it. My doctor has not even mention about surgery at all.
