I have been in for 13yrs. have done tours in Iraq. I have psoriatic arthritis. And I just currently tore tendons in my ankle. I am Active Guard Reserve. An Active Reservist. I can’t do the job anymore. I have tried for 2 years. I have asked and nobody seems to know. I love the Army just can’t do it anymore. To many limitations.

You need to get all your medical paperwork in order and set up a medical evaluation board – AGR has to first go through their state – if they determine you are non-deployable you will be sent to Ft Knox for a regular army evaluation board where they will make a decision as to if you are deployable or not. If they determine you aren’t able to deploy or do your job you will be given disability rating and a determination made on payment.
uh, have you asked the docs?????
Have you talked to your doctors about it. If your condition is such that you are on limited duty (profile) and have medical restrictions on your job then you have a better chance.
You need to stick with keeping medical personnel informed of you health status. Make them order tests. Seek treatment. Be active and make sure everything is well documented.
Take this up with your 1st Sgt or Company commander. There will be LOTS of paperwork required, med evals and such. YOU have the burden to prove you have an injury that qualifies for a med discharge.
Did you ask your Superiors or you’d have to get an injury that disables you from doing anything
Talk to your doctors. Tell them that you cant do the job anymore. They should set you up for physical evaluation board. They will look at all of your medical problems and make a decision of if you should stay on active duty or not. Also talk to your First Sgt. He should be able to steer you in the right direction.
Go to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and ask for help. They helped me with my disabilities
It would seem to me that if you can not perform your job (MOS), that you would have to be providing a reason as to why you can not perform your function. This could be in the form of a medical profile classification, such as a temporary,T3, P3 or other. If you have one of these, the commander is well within his right to have you re-assigned to a position or job function that you can perform within the limits of your profile and continue to serve out your enlistment. A medical discharge would really only be used in an instance where there is simply no job that you can effectively perform and it serves the best interests of the military more to just send you packing. So if you are still in, they must have a use for you and you can serve out the remainder of your current enlistment. Note, you will be barred from any further re-enlistment if you possess a P3 profile, so just make sure that you list any aches and pains during your exit physical and paperwork so that you can maybe qualify for benefits through the VA once you’re out.
13 years, wow you could have left if you didn’t reenlist. this would be your 3rd tour of duty right.
there probably not going to let you go unless you are seriously injured.
you could probably get out by saying something like "gee doc can you do something to ease my butt, i tore it up real bad while engaging in homosexual activity."
I’m pretty sure though if they find out your not really gay you could get in huge trouble and possibly labeled as a deserter.
