Has anyone had these symptoms? Pain and swelling in the Groin (males).?
Recently I have had problems in the groin area with the left side of my scrotum swelling up.
Later I had a flare up of my Psoriatic Arthritis / Ankylosing Spondylitis.
Pain in my back (tail bone) up to about my waist, at night in bed my ribs and upper back ache and keep me from sleep.
I developed psoriasis as a teenager and then in my twenties I developed psoriatic arthritis, 4 of my toes bent and my ankle swollen up. Pain in my neck, between shoulder blades, lower back and hips. Ankylosing Spondylitis in my neck and lower back.
I was referred to a urologist who said I had a hernia or rupture as I am having pain in my lower abs, down the side of my groin and the swelling in the scrotum
when he examined me he could not find a hernia, I have had an ultra sound followed by an MRI scan with the same results, only thing found was fluid in my hip joint (due to the arthritis)
so is it possible that this current problem with my groin is down to Psoriatic Arthritis / Ankylosing S

Barnie the answer to your question is yes Psoriatic Arthritis can cause pain and swelling in the genital region , along with scrotum swelling, and what you are describing. I get Penis swelling all the way to my perineum area, I have had so much surgery on the penis, and all but a piece of skin that holds a penis pump is left to my scrotum, and that also swells. I mean I get huge like a Thermos bottle with pain where i am laid up in bed for two or three days at a time. You have hit the nail on the head young man. I am 58 and have had this since i had an accident to the genital area after falling 80 feet on to a Steel paper roll back in 84. Hope this has been helpful. I will keep you in my prayers as I have never found anything that really helps and I hate taking pain meds. I am spending the winter in Florida this year as I live in Maine, and I have to say one thing I haven’t had as many attacks , but I still get them, here where it is warmer. Take Care and have a very Merry Christmas. Steve
