Modeling contract…?
I was offered a modeling contract to do modeling in my wheelchair.
You see, I’m a girl who has Juvenile Arthritis and sometimes I am in a wheelchair.
Recently I’ve worked hard to get walking and out of the chair. In fact, I only had to use it a few times this last winter. I’m so much better now that I’m even doing some ballet. (Not en pointe, of course.)
My Arthritis moved to my wrist. I have always wanted to model, but do I really want to be known as the wheel-chair girl? I’m not even in a wheelchair anymore, and I worked so hard to get out of it. What if people don’t want me for anything else and if I get a job where I have to stand will people call me a faker who was in a wheelchair just to get work.
I’m sooo confused!
What should I do!?

Milk it for every penny you can get. Don’t worry about what anybody says about you. You have a condition that is going to get worse with age (I’m assuming) so make as much money as you can, when you can to keep you comfortable later in life.
Modelling is a fickle industry and it sure as hell isn’t about honesty. It’s about creating an illusion to sell a product and separate people from their money. So don’t beat yourself up about what you are in your real life and what the advertisers pay you to portray. It’s like being an actress. Nobody believes Meryl Streep is really a nun or that Dustin Hoffman is a transvestite, drug addict savant!!
Take the breaks life deals you. As long as you don’t hurt anybody, yourself included, go for it.
