Joint Arthritis Archives

I Cant do any upper body exercise due to my right shoulder and cant do any lower body exercise due to the knee problem. I tried swimming but it too causes shoulder pain. Have tried different doctors and physiotherapy without any success…….I AM JUST 34 YEARS OLD. HOW WILL I LIVE THE REST OF MY LIFE WITHOUT EXERCISE???, I will probably die young due to lack of exercise. this is very frustrating.

My daughter is pregnant (1-2 months). She suffers from arthritis and since a few days ago has had swelling fingers in feet and hands. Normally she takes Celebrex, but now she cannot take it. Ginger and Tylenol with codeine have been recommended. What else she can do?

Why is it not commonly known that Glucosamine sulfate works the best? Is because the pharmaceutical
industry doesn't want people to know? Glucosamine has also been used for many years by veterinarians to treat arthritis in dogs, horses and other pets.

If so, did it help your dog? Is it worth the to try it for my dog? My golden retriever is 10 and has hip dysplasia and I read alot of good reviews on 1800petmeds website about it but I would like to hear from someone other than just on their website.

Maybe then I can understand why the damage is permanent.
Wow. So far, very informative answers. I didnt realize it could go in "remission". Keep em comin! =)

Did you find success with it? I’d like to hear some success stories. A woman I know stated that it has worked for her and she has stopped taking glucosamine sulfate all together. She was a professional body builder and is now lifting weights again easily without pain.

Can arthritis affect only one joint?

I’ve had recurring pain in my left ankle for 5 years. After walking for about 15 minutes the pain is so bad that I have to stop. Can you get any types of arthritis in one joint? I’m trying to figure out if it’s just a physical injury that never healed or some disease.

Doctor is a lunatic she says nothing she can do for the aches and pains. I seen commercial on tv for Osteo bi flex and looked into a couple more like Phosoplex or Flexarin. There's gotta be something to help relieve the aches and pains even if it's just temporary.

I'm young (mid forties) and I've had this for nearly two years. I've gotten cortisone shots on an increasing basis. They work great, but after a few months, I'm back in pain. I'm leaning toward having surgery wherein they place a bit of cartilage in the joint to replace mine which has worn out. Have you had this surgery, was it successful, what else should I consider?

Thanks!

I've heard there are some supplements or certain foods to keep your joints healthy.

I know it is important to stretch & exercise correctly and often. So if you've got anything else, let me know :)
