What are some non-medical treatments for Arthritis?

My grandpa is suffering from arthritis in his shoulders due to that he does not able to move his arms. I have tried a lot of medical treatment but didn’t work. So i am looking for some natural methods for treatment of arthritis. Thanks.

Here’s what I use. Ice, Heat, Wet Heat (like a long hot shower), ibuproferen (advil/motrin), and Mineral Ice (topical pain relief gel that you can buy at any grocery store). Any one of these will help him feel better, I also like chamomile tea and found that it calms the body and gives a slight pain relief over the whole body. It’s not strong but it helps in conjuncture with the others.
I have read of a home remedy that I am going to try – gin soaked raisins. The story is that you take 1 pound of golden raisins, put them in a glass bowl and pour a pint of gin over them. Let them sit for about a week or until the raisins absorb all the gin, then put them in a glass jar and eat 9 each day.

I have a few suggestions..first people who became vegetarians for other reasons noticed there arthritis dramatically improving especially vegans.
the late, great Dr John r Christopher suffered lifelong arthritis and had juvenile arthritis and said if he stayed on a vegan diet, he was fine..if he ate dairy, he would need a cane and if he ate meat, he would be in a wheelchair.

I would recommend this book and his book folk medicine.
The author was a medical doctor and also a vet.
They showed at slaughter that the cows not given the ACV had calcium deposited in the arteries and joints and at slaughter their blood vessels were hard to cut and their bones soft indicating the calcium was not going where it was supposed to go.
The cows given ACV had tender meat that was was easily cut through and very hard bones showing the calcium was not being carried in the blood stream and deposited and not going to the bones. A great book and an easy inexpensive treatment. It seems this treatment will help[ but when one stops taking the ACV and honey, it comes back. take three times a day. I sometimes use it with sea salt in warm water as I like this taste better..the honey does have some benefits though.
The old experiment of the egg shell in vinegar dissolving shows that vinegar dissolves calcium deposits.
