severe arthritis pain in one knee,1st year, any advice?

My 8yr old daughter developed a strange rash. They appeared as circular rashes that were open inside and all interconnected like a behive. She also had striped rashes that were raised and red as if someone had scratched her. She has been having extreme severe joint pain. To the point at times she cannot move. The doctors said it is Erythema multiforme or a virus. This has been going on for over a week. Is there some other diagnosis for this. Could this be possible juvenile rheumatoid arthritis? She worsens at night and has also been having a low grade fever. The rash also comes and goes.

Breaking a lease for medical reasons?

My partner and I signed a lease on our current apartment at the end of last year and it will not run up for a few more months. However, we are trying to relocate and I will tell you why:

Our current building is beautiful and we love it but it is a tower that was built over fifty years ago and was remodeled just last year. The energy bills on our apartment have been anywhere from to 0 in our 560 square foot apartment. And, a few months after we moved into the building, they filled all of their units and shortly thereafter fired their entire cleaning crew that was already having trouble keeping up with the messes caused by the hundreds of residents and the leasing office just shrugs and tells us that it is the responsibility of the tenants to maintain the grounds now. They also refuse to do anything about our outrageous electric bill which was supposed to be no more than , they said when we signed our lease. Obviously this is not a valid reason to leave and they would not allow us to break the lease without 00 in fees.

But now we think that we have a legitimate argument for breaking our lease and I want to see what you have to say! My partner was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis with ankylosing spondylitis almost ten years ago and, during the winter months especially, he often has trouble climbing stairs. Our building has not one handicapped entrance or ramp (somehow they found a way out of having to make your building handicapped accessible when you remodel a building). To reach every single entrance to the building, you have to climb a flight of stairs. If we acquired a doctor’s note stating that my partner’s condition has worsened and that he is not recommended to climb stairs on a regular basis as it may cause unreasonable pain and damage, would the apartment building be legally obligated to allow us to break our lease? As far as we can tell, it seems that the apartment building would have to let us go without charge… But it also seems like it is too great of an idea to end up working… something always seems to not work out like we plan. Any comments or suggestions here?
EDIT: I would like to state that not one other tenant has had a bill over in the building, and even the leasing office has told us that it is impossible to receive a bill as high as we have, but they refuse to do anything about it. It is not magically our fault that our apartment sucks up more engery than everyone else’s.

Also, the building has no right to refuse housing to a person due to their disability, so what would it matter if my partner has had the disease for so many years. It is a degenerative disease that slowly eats away at your bones, which can flare up and can also seem to virtually disappear at times. He has gone through periods of hardly being able to walk since I have known him.

The ADA states that a landlord must make reasonable accomodations for people with any sort of debilitating disease or state. If our building would like to build a ramp (which they are legally obligated to have, anyway) instead of releasing from our lease, they may choose to do so.

What is the best medicine for arthritis?

The arthritis is in the back and knee of a young man with degenerative disc disease. He also has ulcers in his stomach so this is something to take into account. We are interested in both over the counter and prescription drugs. Thanks.

i have JA ( juvenile arthritis ) and i recently made friends with someone and they have the same symptoms as me apart from her joints do not swell up and become warm etc. she has had tests and they came back normal, she has had xrays and physical examinations and is going for an appointment on wednesday but she has no idea what it could be.. do any of you have ideas on what it could be? arthritis is not an answer unless it could be osteoarthritis?? but it is in every joint from her toes right up to her neck… were both really confused??

Questions about Humira?

I just got my first shot of Humira for my suspected psoriatic arthritis on Friday and I had a question. For those of you that take it or have knowledge about it, I know that it lowers your white blood count. People in my house are sick quite a bit during the year, so other than screenings (which I obviously will be getting), how do I protect myself? Supplements? Immune-boosting foods? What are the chances of me actually getting a serious infection?

Ive been hearing different %s but i rather have a overall opinion from people who know the Va and how it works, before i see them.

Do you think this should be required information for all families?
For those of you that have jumped on the negative bandwagon, all of this information has been well documented in medical journals. I did both with my twins, breast and bottle.
On alcohol they have warnings because it is a dangerous substance, so is formula. It is undeniable that it kills 1.5 million children per year. WIC in many states is having people sign an informed consent with this information. I am just seeing what others think.
If you don’t agree with facts you don’t have to be rude.

Help with my UC personal statement.?

In the eighteen years of my existence I have lived among the ill, the disabled, and the unfortunate. I, personally, am a part of the disabled and have faced many challenges in my life. From the day of my diagnosis with Systemic Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, Systemic JRA, I was told that I will never be able to succeed in life as this condition will hold me back, to a point where I can never function like a normal person. My goal was to prove this statement wrong. At the diagnosis of my condition I had to start methotrexate, chemotherapy, this challenged my life with uncontrollable bouts of sickness. My first year back to school with this disease, I missed sixty-three days of school and from that I knew my road in life would no longer be simple, but a constant struggle between balancing school, work, and my sickness. With my hopes dwindling, that I would never be able to function as a normal person, I was shown a summer camp with kids just like me with the same diseases and treatments. I attended this camp and took classes to deal with my arthritis in numerous ways to reduce the struggles upon my life, which resulted in me being able to stop all chemotherapy treatments as I took control of my life. This camp was a very influential part of my life as methods to deal with my illness are continuously used by me. On one of my later in life volunteer experiences, I volunteered at an elderly home. I entered the volunteer work just looking to complete volunteer credits and be done with such a program, but this home changed my life for all the days in my life to come. In that elderly home I was able to connect with people of conditions similar to mine as that of the summer camp. I showed them the same tricks that I was shown in my camp to reduce strain upon one’s joints, to increase motion in the afflicted joints, and methods to reduce pain and suffering of one’s self. After about a week all the seniors had gained new life and appeared to have washed away the sands of time from themselves. I enjoyed helping these elderly people and I feel I made a difference in their lives. On one day of work it was family day. It brought tears to my eyes when I saw grandparents running and playing with their grandchildren, something they had never been able to do before. This course of volunteer work was so influential upon me I continued to help people through my life and continue to this day.
I, to this very day, have had to deal with the challenges of life plus my condition. I was told that with my condition I would never be able to function like a normal person and I set out to prove them wrong. I believe I did what I said I would do. My personal gain from this life experience which I will grow with is that I have an absolute love of helping others. From this time I have decided that to be happy in life and to continue to endure happiness I need to be upon the end of giving help to others. So it would be in my benefit if I could be a doctor of any sort. I would be able to display my need to help others in way of challenging myself and proving that I can be normal by taking upon one of the hardest challenge of life, becoming a doctor that would benefit not only patients but in return myself.

anything to help at all. most "legit" help is the best answer
