Any chance to cure it? Remission? How quickly can it get really bad? Of course she is going to a rheumatologist but during the months she will be waiting for an appointment I would like a little insight as to what the typical prognosis can be.
Her GP did the rest for RA factor and it was positive. She also did the blood tests for Lupus and others that can give a false positive for RA. Those were all negative.

She is already taking max dose of narcotics for pain management with no good results. I am having difficulty finding a doctor to perform the necessary knee and shoulder replacement surgery due to her many underlying health conditions. Thanks

My aunt is considering using the Cardio machine to help her reduce the pain in her knees or prevent the recurrence of arthritis. I wonder if this machine would really help her out with her problem. If yes, how long should she use it and up to what level?

Okay, so my left shoulder has been bothering me for about a week. It hurts to raise it higher than my chest and like the back of my shoulder hurts and my upper arm too. I’m also a competitive swimmer, and whenever I swim backstroke or breaststroke, it cracks/pops and it is painful. Should I see a doctor? I don’t think it may be lack of calcium either, because that is what my friend had.
By the way, I might have Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, does that affect it in any way? Thanks in advance

She is 55 years old, and she has been suffering from arthritis in her knees. The tear happened a few months back, and the doctor is removing the tear. Just want to know if the surgery will be effective for someone with her condition and her age. If not what are alternatives?

I should also mention that she is over weight, but due to her knee she is unable to excercise. I have gotten her into aqua fit classes, which don’t bother her too much, but other than that, there is not much she can do. Also, I have put her on a diet plan, but the real problem is the lack of movement. I did ask the doctor about a knee replacement, but he told me that at this point these two surgeries would be the first step, and hopefully this should hold out for the next 10 years. At that time if needed they can do the full knee replacement.

I will be 18 on the 22nd of this month and I have been experiencing joint pain in my hands and lower arms. Many have said its because I’m still growning but I’m not sure I believe that. I don’t play any sports so it couldn’t be because if that. Do I have Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis?
Oh Sorry! I said lower arm. What I ment was wrist.

I have arthritis in both knees, with full layer cartilage loss in the right. After having swelling develop and needing fluid removed several times within the last year, my doctor suggested I consider knee replacement. Since I’m only 54, I asked if that wasn’t too young. Would like some feedback on those that have had the surgery, your experiences, good or bad. Thank you.

I’ve been having these joint pains from my knee to my ankle since I was in the 10th grade (15 years old) and now I’m 17. Before I thought it was cause I be on my feet all the time but it hurts even when I don’t be on it. Sometimes when I walk I start limping, and my whole right leg hurts terribly. Like 2 days ago from my ankle to my foot it start swelling up…it looked disgusting. Now it just getting worse I’ve been doing research about it just in case it’s something else but all of it is in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis…..does anybody knows whats going on…I can’t even walk anymore..it hurts…really bad.
